A beautiful example of adaptive reuse, Culture Station Seoul 284 transforms the historic former Seoul Station building into a vibrant cultural space. Constructed in 1925 during the Japanese colonial period, this iconic red-brick structure served as Seoul's main railway station for over 80 years before being designated as Korea's Historic Site No. 284.
After extensive restoration work to preserve its original Renaissance-style architecture, the building reopened in 2011 as a multi-purpose cultural venue hosting diverse exhibitions, performances, and cultural events. The space seamlessly blends historical grandeur with contemporary art, offering visitors a unique cultural experience in the heart of Seoul.
Most exhibitions and events are free to enter, making it an accessible cultural destination for everyone.
